Why disc-based evidence packs are still widely used

Although many systems now export to USB, a large number of CCTV, DVR and hybrid recorders continue to burn evidence to CD or DVD. Optical media remains a practical choice where systems are already configured for disc export, or where investigating teams prefer a physical, write-once format.

The quality of the media and the way it is labelled and documented can affect how easily footage can be located, verified and presented later. Unlabelled or poorly prepared discs increase the risk of mix-ups and weak audit trails.

Depending on the pack you choose, contents commonly include:
